Early childhood learning through dance, music, performance and visual arts develops fine motor skills, assists in building early literacy concepts and teaches important behaviors which prepare students for success in Kindergarten. Then, eliminate the culinary arts schools that do not offer the type of degree from your consideration list. Quality arts education is a critical investment in learning across the lifespan and reflection of a healthy, engaged community. Students with an arts degree tend to have better communication & presentation skills who can communicate lucidly, orally and in writing.

It mostly appeared that Science stream students can take up more subjects, but sometimes the Arts stream can apply for science subjects if they could find a tutor who is willing to teach them.

Several years ago, a few HGSE Arts in Education program alumni, lamenting the separation from classmates and other like minded arts educators, initiated an alumni-networking group called Continuing the Conversation (CtC). Comprehensive, innovative arts initiatives are taking root in a growing number of school districts.

I’m seeing a lot of posts on my Facebook timeline about the arts becoming a ‘core subject’ (I hang out with a lot of art teachers I guess) thanks to the new Student Success Act… but I’m not so sure that we should be ready to celebrate yet.
