City of Citrus Heights preserves and promotes the City’s historic resources; fosters, develops, and enriches programs for the arts; and encourages citizen participation in its outreach activities. Again the Department of Art History sends interns for as many as six elective credits to many of the galleries in the Northeast including the great auction houses like Sotheby’s and Christie’s, as well as to many smaller, more specialized galleries (see the section on Internships ). In consultation with the departmental undergraduate advisor, every attempt is made to tailor an internship to the career goals of the individual student.

Career prospects include teaching (at all levels), museum or gallery work, archaeology, work in auction houses, journalism, advertising, publishing and editing, and in related fields (following specialized training programs) such as conservation, archival studies, library sciences with a specialty in art history or archaeology, arts administration, art law, art advising, art appraisal, arts management, art investment, antiquarian book trade and heritage management.history of artshistory of artshistory of arts
