Latitude Artist Community serves all people – with an emphasis on those thought by some to have a disability – by creating meaningful, inclusive community interactions which allow participating artists to contribute culturally and politically to the life of their community. The Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support (IVAIS) program supports a professional, viable and ethical Indigenous visual arts industry with strong participation by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. In many cases, neither pre-service nor in-service teachers have the knowledge, inclination or the time to attempt integrating arts into the curriculum.
Creativity and Neighborhood Development by The investment Fund demonstrates how the arts and culture con be key ingredients in neighborhood revitalization. Whether you visit the Sheldon, wander the grounds of Laumeier Sculpture Park, or attend a performance of the St. Louis Symphony, there are so many ways to enjoy the arts in our region.
It is the major event for WA’s largest youth arts festival, and National Youth Week celebration, the 2017 KickstART Festival! The Pawtucket Arts Collaborative was just established after the City’s arts district was created. Lexington’s Latitude Artist Community, University of Kentucky HealthCare and Lawrenceburg author Bobbie Ann Mason are among the 2012 recipients of the Governor’s Awards in the Arts, the state’s highest honor in the arts.
Studies indicate that arts integration also fosters less reliance on physical responses as a means of communication (Johnson, 2007). Project Funding is offered once a year and presents the ACT community with the opportunity to propose one-off arts activities.
Creative Scotland : Supports and invests in Scotland’s arts and creative industries. Creation of arts and cultural districts has been aided by newly enacted state legislation, Virginia House Bill 1735, which empowers every community in Virginia to create an Arts and Cultural District.
